All Linux users and developers need to store data and retrieve it in a timely and reliable fashion. All levels of the operating system are used to make this happen, from the storage devices and their drivers, to the file system, all the way to the database.
I'm proud to announce that the bid to organise the inaugural data storage and retrieval miniconf for linux.conf.au 2010 in Wellington was accepted.
This miniconf aims to provide a non-denominational forum for the various open source databases as well as file systems; talks on which have traditionally not made it into the main conference in larger numbers. This miniconf is being organised by Peter Lieverdink and will run on Tuesday 19 January 2010.
Call for lightning talks
The call for proposals for the DS&R miniconf is now closed. However, some time is scheduled for lightning talks at the end of the day, so if you wish to submit a lightning talk, you still can. Of course, you'll be able to sign up for lightning talks until the afternoon of January 19th.
